Christian & Rachaels Wedding

On Saturday January 21st, two very good friends of the Wivelsfield Ringers, Christian Peckham and Rachael Eagle were married at St Peters Church, Reymerston, Norfolk.
With both the Ringers being avid Ringers, it was no surprise that the Day included much bellringing - both of the Tower and Handbell variety! The day started off with a peal of Bristol Surprise Major at St Nicholas, Ashill, Norfolk that featured the Groom, the Best Man and the Grooms Father.
At the service there was Ringing before and after the service with many of the guests taking the chance to grab the tower. During the signing of the register a plain course of Grandsire Caters was superbly rung on the Handbells.
The Handbells were brought out again at the reception where both the Bride and Groom demonstrated their skill with the smaller bells.
The Wivelsfield Ringers with Christian and Rachael all the very best for the future!

New Method to Learn - Erin

Please have a look at this method for our next practice.

Perhaps we will have more luck with Erin than we do with Stedman!?

Mid Sussex Times

This weeks Mid Sussex Times once again features an article on our Bell restoration. The article can be found on page 4 and has two photo's of Edna, Christopher and Bishop Lindsay.

I will aim to get the article scanned and uploaded to the main website in the next few days.

Bells Rededicated!!

We had an enjoyable rededication Service on Sunday (15th Jan) led by the Right Revd Lindsay Urwin, Bishop of Horsham. The church was packed to capacity and included a few ringing 'VIP's', namely Ian Hastilow(Master of the Association), Jonathan Franklin (Divisional Master) and Hugh Pettifer (Bell Restoration Expert for SCA). Ian's 'Chain of Office' created much interest amongst the non-ringing parishoners!
The extra ringers in church meant we were able to ring significantly more methods than we do on a normal Sunday morning, ranging from Rounds and Call Changes up to Cambridge Surprise Minor!

The local paper (Mid-Sussex Times) once again sent a photographer to capture the event. Should an article appear, I will aim to get it scanned and uploaded to the main site.

We finished the day off by ringing a Quarter Peal prior to evensong.

Incorrect Link for 'Blue Line' website

It has been reported to me that the link to the Visual Method Archive website (otherwise known as the 'Blue Line' website) from the links page of the main site is no longer working. Iwill update the page as soon as possible, but for the time being the correct address is:-

http://www.vismeth.co.uk/main.htm

(Thanks to Michael for letting me know about the dead link!)
